The H14 Long Ranger Big Woods Carbine is what happens when you take the proven platform of the Long Ranger, combine that with the hard-hitting knockdown power of one of America’s most celebrated short-action big game calibers, and build it specifically for whitetail hunting in tight timber. Developed in collaboration with Big Woods Bucks (BWB), a team of expert woodsmen and trackers from the Northeast, this is a purpose-built deer rifle for hunters who spend their time in the kind of country where shots come fast and close, the rifle in your hands needs to balance right, and be ready to finish the job immediately.

The most obvious change from our standard Long Ranger is the shortened 18.5-inch blued steel carbine barrel. It keeps the overall length at 39 inches and the weight at 6.9 pounds, so the rifle handles quickly through brush and shoulders without effort. The .308 Win / 7.62×51 NATO chambering gives it all the terminal authority it needs for any whitetail at the ranges this type of hunting produces, which tends to be up close and personal.

The Right Sights for the Woods – Quality Meets Function

A BWB Tracker Series Skinner Peep Sight comes pre-installed on the receiver, paired with a red fiber optic Marbles front sight. It is a proven and robust combination that was chosen with intention. In low-light timber situations, a peep sight naturally draws your eye to the target faster than an open rear sight, and the bright fiber optic front bead snaps into focus even in the gray half-light of a November morning. There are no turrets to adjust, no glass to fog, and nothing to catch brush. Just the sight picture you need when a deer steps into a gap thirty yards out. Of course, if you prefer a scope, the receiver is drilled and tapped if you decide to go in that direction.

The checkered American walnut buttstock carries an engraved Big Woods Bucks logo in green plaid, marking this rifle as built around a specific philosophy of deer hunting: get into the woods, get close, and put in the work.
