Korth Group Outdoor Education. The Advantages of Modular Gun Safes

As hunters and shooters, it is common knowledge that it is our duty to exhibit responsible gun ownership. With that comes methods of safely securing your firearms in your household and choosing the right lock up or safe to store them. As we know there are many different brands, sizes, and configurations of gun safes but what most of them have in common is they are bulky, heavy, and not easy to move around. As a result, places to put these safes tend to be very limited, like the main floor of the house or in the garage in plain sight, since they would either need an entire defensive line from the local football team to move them into a more concealed place or have the house built around them. This takes lots of money or big construction plans to execute. In some situations, large traditional welded safes must be sold with houses when the homeowner moves out simply because the safe was placed in the basement during construction and it simply cannot be removed without major alterations to the houses structure…

Luckily brands like SnapSafe have a solution to this problem with their Modular Gun Safe models. On this episode of Korth Group Outdoor Education, we will take you through three key advantages to going with a modular style safe that provides the user with the same level of security but just more convenience and versatility than conventional welded safes.

1. EASE – Easy to Move and Assemble
The SnapSafe line of modular safes allows you to literally take it one piece at a time. The safe is delivered in pieces, which the homeowner simply unpacks and assembles near the desired location. This is something that Korth Group can have drop shipped right to the customer’s front door to keep logistics and costs to a minimum.

The SnapSafe modular assembly system locks the walls together from the inside, making them as solid and impenetrable as a conventional welded safe. It’s easy for the average homeowner to accomplish. Assembly requires just one tool, the socket wrench that comes in the package. Each piece is very manageable when it comes to weight. The heaviest sections of each safe model are the doors or the back panel. Depending on the model, these sections range from 92 lbs. to 180 lbs., which is still a fraction of the safe’s total weight.

2. VERSATILITY – Stairs and Low Ceilings are No Problem
A modular safe opens up a world of possibilities for someone who rents rather than owning a home or someone who has to move frequently, such as an active military family. Whether it’s moving SnapSafe to another room or across the country, the process is just as easy, disassemble the safe from the inside and move it piece by manageable piece.

The modular system works just as well when the prospect of navigating confined spaces presents the only solution for stowing your guns and other valuables safely and away from prying eyes. If you want your gun safe in the basement next to your reloading equipment, don’t worry. Low ceilings don’t bother the modular pieces of SnapSafe, nor do tight hallways or even something like a spiral staircase at the family cabin.

3. SECURITY – They Can Take a Beating and Withstand Heat
The modular safes feature 3/16th-inch solid steel doors that are sledgehammer and pry-resistant, eight one-inch chrome steel live locking bolts and 9-gauge two-ply steel exterior walls. SnapSafe modular safes also come with a fire rating of 2300°F. That’s more than twice as hot as the average house fire, which burns at about 1100°F, according to the National Institute of Fire and Safety Training, and SnapSafe far exceeds the fire rating of many other safes.

In closing, when it comes to Modular Safes like SnapSafe, one is not necessarily saving money since these are price competitive with equivalent sized welded safes however, you are gaining convenience. In a lot of situations, especially with heavy gun safes,  you can’t put a price on that…
